Jo-Ann Y. Nitta Bristow, Director
Jo-Ann Y. Nitta Bristow joined The Children's Center's staff in 1976 as an Educational Director, responsible for Curriculum and Teacher Education. In 1978, she became Director of The Children's Center. She received her Bachelor of Education and 5th year Professional Diploma from the University of Hawaii-Manoa. She earned her Master's Degree in Education from New York University.
Her many years of professional experiences include: teaching in the Department of Education, Teacher and curriculum specialist at UH Manoa, teacher in the New York City schools, trainer for the State Day Care PRogram, Bank Street College, New York, consultant to Hawaii's Follow Through Program and assessor for Hawaii's Child Development Associate (CDA) Program.
"Ms. Jo-Ann" is responsible for the daily supervision and education activities within the school. She serves as the staff developer and concentrates on the application of an early childhood education curriculum. She shares her wisdom in parent-child conferences.
